How do I deal with having 2 COM(L) and 2 P1(N) wires to connect to my Tado Thermostat?

Dear Tado community
Perhaps someone can help. The first thermostat I replaced had 3 wires (1 COM(L), 1 P1(N) and 1 NO wire). However, the 2nd thermostat has a total of 5 (2 com(L) and 2 p1(N) and 1 NO wires.)

Could someone please help with the double COM(L) and P1(N) wires? I was not counting on that curve ball.

Thanks in advance
Marc

  • Unusual. Could you provide the individual model of thermostats you are replacing, ie both?

It is possible that the second thermostat actually supplies Live and Switched Live feeds to the first thermostat, ie the first thermostat was added afterwards. Or, that the supply to the boiler went through the second thermostat first.

Do you have a multimeter, or failing that a safe mains testing probe/screwdriver?
