Tado x wired with Alexa wihtout bridge
I recently got a Tado X Wired to replace my Honeywell wired thermostat and as it supports Matter I decided not to invest in a bridge.
I have a 2nd generation Echo and I can see here that is supports Matter
Unfortunately Tado X goes not get connected to the internet via my Alexa, what am I missing, do I certainly need the bridge?

2nd generation Echo doesn't support Thread (e.g. is not a Thread border router therefore you won't be able to connect it to the network. I believe that only 4th Generation of Echo supports Thread (along some other Alexa-enabled devices): https://www.amazon.co.uk/b?ie=UTF8&node=63710514031
Interestingly, even if you have another Thread border router, it doesn't seem that it works with Tado X devices at the moment. Tado only lists Apple HomePod as a compatible 3rd party border router. When I tried to connect a Tado X device to an Echo with Thread border router or Samsung SmartThings - whilst I was able to control devices manually in the respective app, in Tado app they were listed as offline. Same happens when I unplug the Tado X bridge that operates as one of the Thread border routers in my Thread network (all of the end devices and border routers are on the same network for clarity).1
