A complex system
including the starter kit and 8 pcs of smart radiathor ! The conclusion is not really god ! Im nnot happy with these
because i see that it isnt work
Properly or…i dont knwo! If i look on the gas consumption, i will cry next month/))!!!! My boiler is ariston clad one 30 kw! tado system calls for heating because 1 smart radoathor needs to heat a rooom! After 1 min another smart radiathor calls for heat ! And etc etc!!! Absolutely normal because the tempwrature sensor calls for it, and etc ! In this way my boiler is working all
Time without pause! How can i schedule all smart radiathor to work for economy??? My old system
Was an ct7w and was a little beat much good about economy! With all tado that i have in this moment NO WAY…..

Hello @MihaiS Every home is different. Some users prefer a simple mode with one thermostat/TRV to ‘call for heat’ and timed TRVs, like an improved 1980’s control system. Perhaps a good answer for a smaller home? I’ve seen online YouTube videos claiming this approach is best.
In a detached 1960s home, with more than 10 ‘rooms’, it took three months to figure out our best strategy and settings. We went for 10 ‘zones’ (rooms), with independent’ in some bedrooms and the loo.
The system flexibility remains your choice to suit.0

You might want to set some of the TRVs to independent . . .0

On the app……Settings > Rooms & Devices.
Select one of the Rooms (not the valves or thermostats) and then select "Zone Controller. Set to "No Zone Controller.
Then set the valve to the temperature you want. The radiator will only heat up the the wall thermostat turns on.
Do this for as many of the rooms as you want.

Thats not the problem! I have a house with many rooms and the sensor temperature is in the living room! In this room is not a problem because on the radiatoa on this room i didnt install a smart radiathor! The problem is that i dont now for example! In room 1 i set a schedule with 19,5, in room 2 20,5 etc etc! When the room 1 get 19,5 the boiler stoped and will heat another room with 20,5 and another and another! In this way, the boiler heats 23 hours per day ! I want a opinion from a person with many smart radiathor! I donw now an example about the schedule, dont know! Im very sick about this system ! There is no economy and the ratings was another for tado..0

It really isn't complex. You just need to set your own schedule for each room correctly and to match your needs. Try setting a schedule where multiple rooms are coming on at similar times.
I have 9 TRV's and each has its own schedule, so for example room 1 is set to 19 degrees at the moment. Boiler will only kick in when that room drops below 19 degrees.
Room 2 is a room i dont use much so its set to 14 degrees, that wont kick in at all unless temp drops below 14 in that room1 -
As @hugbilly and @TadoUser2 has said set up your system as independent and this will stop your boiler working overtime. Set up a schedule and manually set the temperature for all the smart TRVs.

Hello @MihaiS Welcome. Good suggestions from @hugbilly and @TadoUser2 to use the 'independent' mode.
It took three months to work out what worked well for us. We control each room (zone) individually, some rooms are 'independent', use 'geofencing' a lot, and turn the temperature down (or off) in rooms when not in use.
For gas economy, your boiler documentation refers to a "1:7 'modulation". That implies that a 30kW boiler should be able to wind back to about 4.3 kW. 'Modulation' reduces the amount of gas used to maintain the water temperature and flow for heating through the rads. Out 13 year-old Baxi boiler works like that. This web page give a better explanation of the detail than I can:
If you have a smart meter, you can usuualy find the half-hourly data on the supplier web site or App. There are Apps, like 'Loop', that can pick 'smart' data from the national database.
The graph below shows our percentage kWh results, monthly from February 2022 compared to 2018-21 at the same outside temperature (mean CET). No promises that anyone can achieve the same.
In summary, the system is very flexible and users can find out what works well for their circumstances.

Hmm i know all that! I hve to set up the schedule for ea h smart radiathor to get some economy0
-
Do you require help setting up the schedule. If not what is the problem.

What will be the difference if i will set up each room independent? In this moment i have 8 smart radiathor thermostat and 1 sensor temperature and seems to work ok! The boiler is heating only when the smart radiathor needs the temperature …how will
Work in the independ ment mode? What will be the difference???0 -
Thnk u all for answers! I have one last question: i have a room with 2 radiators and i installed 2 smart thermostats! How can i set them to work similar ! In some cases 1 tuermostat records 20.2 for example and the other 20,5 ! And the schedule is 20,5 ! When the first is heating the other is off ! And the schedule is copy paste for that 2 thermostats0

@MihaiS i have a room like this, to get the radiators working together, I have a separate temperature sensor on the wall and use that to measure temperature0
-
@MihaiS With one room (zone) and multiple Tado devices, one device (TRV or thermostat) will be the temperature measuring device in the App. Use the app to choose the temperature measuring device.

Thnk u again ! And the temperature offset setting on the app how it works?0
-
And another question! Why the heating starts when the smart radiathor indicates that there is 21,8 grades and the schedule is set to 21,5?? Is a strange think…possible the connection is low or how is possible?0
-
Temperature Offset changes the sensor measurement to that of the room. If you have a thermometer in the room and it consistently measures lower (or higher) you can adjust the TRV to match the thermometer by adjusting the offset.
At the moment tado is suffering with server lag. I, and many others are suffering with late adjustment of TRVs. This morning it was 9 minutes between the schedule set and the TRV successfully calling for heat. For this part of your problem, you will need to wait, like the rest of us, for tado to admit to the lag and apply a fix.
