Individual geofencing workaround for specific requirement
I have read the various threads and appreciate that geofencing by person and for individual rooms is not coming soon or probably ever (V3+).
I have a specific requirement and think I have a workaround.
5 bed home with 2-4 adults (depending on uni terms etc). I have set up the whole system over the last few years and am very happy with it and continuously refining the schedules. Thanks to some contributors on here for some valuable advice (like wateroakley). I do not need geofencing for any of the rooms except one. We have two home offices and I would like to geofence one of these to my wife.
I plan to go into each room's schedule and turn geofencing off for all time blocks. This is pretty laborious as we have 16 rooms and several of these have different schedules per day of the week and many have between 3 and 5 time blocks. However then if I turn on geofencing only for my wife and leave the daytime time blocks active for geofencing for her study only - this will achieve what we need.
Our problem is that the days she uses her study are unpredictable and not consistent. The rest of the house is predictable and doesn't need geofencing. I think this should work?
I appreciate that this is not a workaround which would be useful to the large number clamouring for an individual geofencing solution. I do not want to go down the smart home or IFTTT etc route. Loathe to go down the tado x (matter) route as we have 13 rooms all with independent wired or wireless temperature sensors and 3 air con and a few others. So the investment would be significant to change, and other than this one issue it has all worked well from the beginning. Combined with a significant reduction in gas usage.
