Compatibility with Oil-fired External Boiler

Has anybody used this system with an external Oil-fired boiler? I have a Worcester Bosch GreenStar Heatslave II (combi) which sits outside my kitchen (through 2 feet of stone). I've been using a salus RF receiver and controller to date, but want to upgrade to a smart system. Ideally I'd like to be able to control the temperature in individual rooms through smart TRVs as well. Would one of the wireless starter kits be able to handle this? And if so, which one? If not, would the smart TRVs work on their own?

Many thanks

Not a Bosch, but I have a Grant Condensing Oil-fired Outdoor Module that the tado works with.

Well, for the most part. It's flaky at the moment but that's something to do with tado's servers. It might be worth holding off for a bit until the lag issue is solved.

  • Yes. I have a Vulcan oil fired boiler and works. Other parts of the tado system are not perfect though, so choose carefully!
  • Thanks, I've dived in for a wireless starter kit. Couldn't discern the difference between the two wireless setups for the price differential when both seem to cater for combi boilers (which my oil boiler is). Will see how I get on and hope for the best!
