Shows room offline if one TRV is down

Hi,

just wondering what the reasoning behind it is and if this could be changed.

I have a room with three TRVs and a thermostat. One TRV is offline as the radiator is being replaced. The app and the website show the entire room as offline. I cannot see or set anything, I can manually adjust the TRV though.

Could this be handled like low battery. Inform me but not take the entire room down?

  • A suggestion for now: put the batteries back in the trv thermostat and then turn it off. It should stay online but cause no problem.
Just asking someone who knows more about this:
@davidlyall is there a room zone controller overlap here?

Not sure. Assuming that all devices are in the same logical room, I would expect the thermostat to be the measuring device and to keep the room online. Potentially a bug

I only have one room with multiple devices and that has one TRV and a WTS. I've not tested with the TRV offline

@Emcee , can this be reported to the developers?

With tado X it seems to be different:

I have a room with two radiator thermostats and am currently charging one battery. Room shows online and I can control temperature.

  • @FFM Do any of these suggestions help? We presume you have a V3 set of TRVs and a wireless wall thermal sensor. Also presume that these have, all together, been assigned to the same room; but that the wall sensor is somehow the proxy controller for the two Smart TRVs. Does that make sense? Do you need help to change your settings?

@policywonk Yeah, V3. I tagged it as such.

"put the batteries back in the trv thermostat and then turn it off."

I will try this tomorrow. Should work, you are right. When they took the radiator off, they just removed the TRV so I did not do that.
