Cold room switching on boiler alot

Hi,

I have a lot of activity from one room specifically turning the boiler on to keep it at temperature. I understand I need to look at further insulation, but Does anyone know please if I am best to leave this valve on dumb mode or keep it calling for heat?

Many thanks,
Emily

Hello @emz146200 'Independent' mode will certainly stop the TRV 'call for heat' to the boiler. The question is whether the Thermostat and TRVs in other rooms will 'call for heat' enough to keep the radiator heated and room at a suitable temperature for you. The only way to find out is to try it.

I've set the TRVs in the "communal" areas (Hall and Landing) of our house to independent. It seems to work OK as the Sitting Room calls for heat regularly enough to keep the other areas warm. I like the idea of all radiators being able to activate the boiler but it did result in the boiler running an awful lot . . .
