How do tado thermostatic valves work with a central thermostat

I have a wired tado thermostat which we use to turn heating on/off for the whole house. There are a couple of rooms upstairs which get really warm, whilst their rest of the house is still heating up to the set temperature. I was wondering whether the smart radiator thermostats on these radiators would help to limit unnecessary heating in these rooms but not really sure if this is how they work. Do these valves adjust the flow in the radiator to match the temperature set on the central wired thermostat? Also concerned that the radiator valve is right next to the radiator, so not sure if mesures an accurate temperature of the room.

The TRVs behave independently of the thermostat so long as they are assigned to different virtual rooms. They can either be set to call for heat, in which case they can activate the boiler, or be set to independent in which case they act in the same way as conventional TRVs save for the fact that, in either state, they can also follow a schedule . . .

  • So, what happens in this situation. Where the boiler is on to heat the house to 21 degrees (according to the schedule and because temperature at thermostat triggers heating) but the temperature in one of the rooms is already 22. That room has a smart valve, also set to 21. Will the smart valve shut off the the heating flow just to that radiator until the temperature drops?

    Yes it will . . . . .
