I have just installed a smart thermostat alongside a wireless temperature sensor

The smart thermostat correctly controls the radiator valve (opens and closes) but does not send a signal to the boiler for heat unless the wireless temperature sensor is also calling for heat

Consequently I cannot use the smart thermostat to call for heat, which is what I installed it for

    Is it assigned to a zone controller, and is it in the same virtual room as the TRV, if not, it needs to fulfil both those things . . .

    The room with the smart trv appears on my app as a separate room to the main receiver

    Not sure what the zone controller is

    You need to make sure the thermostat and the TRV are in the same "room" and that the room is assigned to the zone controller:

    All now appears to be working correctly

    Secret is to reset the wireless receiver (turn of and back on) This then appears to recognise the new smart thermostat but without the reset it was not communicating. Do not think this was in the instructions on how to install
