Tado system with smart radiator thermostats

Hi

I purchased my Tado system some years ago and it consisted of:

1 Wireless Receiver
1 Internet Bridge
1 Wireless Temperature Sensor

I installed it, and all has been working well.

A month or so ago, I purchased 8 smart radiator thermostats and installed those on 8 of my 10 radiators. I am now thinking of ordering another 2 and intend to install them on the final 2 radiators. However, I notice that a wireless receiver only supports up to 10 devices and I would have 11 including my wireless temperature sensor. So, my question is can I remove the wireless temperature sensor from the system and just have all smart radiator thermostats request heating when they need it?

Or is there a better solution?

Many thanks
Jez

  • @davidlyall Is this for you?

  • @SnowDog , do you intend on installing a TRV in the same room as the wireless temp sensor? If that's the case, you just need to set the WTS as the measuring device for the room.

If it's in a different room then there is a limit of 10 rooms (not devices) that can call for heat but the tado system has a 25 device limit so you don't need to remove the WTS from the system but you would need to decide which 10 rooms should be able to call for heat.

When I set up my system, all rooms could call for heat but I've since reduced that to only the living room and 3 bedrooms. All other rooms get heat if the system is running for other rooms. This works well and reduces the amount of cycling for the boiler
