Keeping the Tado App working whilst away

Hope you can help. Last year when I went away (abroad), my partner contacted me to let me know that the heating was not coming on (having set the required times for coming on / going off in my schedule). I'm away once more this year, but before I go, I want to avoid a repeat of this occurring. Are there any reasons why the schedule should not be working ? Would not having wi-fi connectivity for my app at certain times of the day be a reason ? If not, would you be able to assist on how to set this up correctly when I am away ?

    Thanks for responding @Emcee. No it wasn't. I initially suspected that I may have lost my wi-fi connection whilst I was away, so that may have been the reason for my scheduled start time.

    Lost WiFi could be one reason but you've discounted that. Do you have Geofencing enabled in the schedules. You don't say if you have this feature or not so purely a suggestion. Are you the only person who has the Tado app installed?

    @julian_g71 Thank you for responding. I am the only one that has the Tado App installed. Would it be easier if someone else loaded it onto their phone for the duration of my time away ?

    I do have the Geofencing feature on my App, but I'm at a bit of a loss on how to use it.

    @Rak If you have geofencing enabled, then when you leave the house the heating will go into a "away" mode, and will likely be running the heating essentially to off, or whatever the minimum temperature you've set in the app for away mode.

    Note, the system doesn't rely on your app to keep operating. So even if your phone is off, the heating will get it's settings from the tado servers.

    You have several options:

    1. Install the app on your partner's phone too (with their own account - by inviting them to join your tado home). That way the geofencing will check that you're both away before switching to away mode.
    2. Manually force it to "Home" mode. Click on the geofencing tile and switch it from auto to Home. This way, even if you leave it'll operate as if you're at home.
    3. Switch geofencing off for your schedule.
