No heating

Problem since early November. App shows all ok but no heating happening even though app says it is. Have resolved in past few weeks by activating pairing and toggling V3 extension kit but this morning water is hot but no heating at all and activating pairing and toggling makes no difference. Extension kit pulsing but nothing happening. Changing temperatures on the app and smart thermostats, nothing happens. Advice please!! Is this connected to the server issues?

  • I'm assuming that this is an S or Y plan system. If you can give some more information about your system, that will help

    If Y plan, it's common for the 3 port valves to fail resulting on the symptoms you describe.

    On S plan, the two port valves can also fail.

    I would check the operation of the valves first before pointing the finger at tado. If you're unsure, a heating engineer would be able to do this quickly

    It could also be a stuck relay on your extension kit so a couple of gentle taps on the casing may release it.
  • Thanks David. It's an S plan system and I'm waiting for a heating engineer to visit to check the valves having ran some tests with tado staff.

    I wasn't pointing a finger at tado simply trying to eliminate issues first especially given that there had been reports of server issues with heating showing as on in the app but not working in practice.

    I suspect it's a malfunction in one of the valves. Hopefully i can get it fixed soon! Thanks for taking time to respond.
  • No problem. Apologies, I hurriedly wrote my reply and realise the language wasn't great.

    I would be checking that the valve(s) is getting power when tado says the heating is on. If it is then it's likely to be a valve issue or possibly wiring beyond the valve. If it isn't getting power then it's awiring or extension kit issue

    As far as I'm aware, the server issues are all resolved. The problem was a delay between the app and tado devices of up to a few minutes but ultimately they would do what was asked
