Hot water away setting

Can anybody confirm what the toggle switch on Hot Water setting in Away mode means? I'm guessing it means if switch is on, the hot water will continue in same settings as Home. If off, hot water set to constantly off.

Is this correct?

  • Hello @rus167

When tado° is in Away Mode, hot water is being heated to the target temperature based on the settings you’ve specified for the Away Mode.

    Hi @Emcee

Is that a tado v3 setting only? I don't see it in tado X.

Or does this have to do with the type of control, e.g. OpenTherm vs. heatpump vs. bus?

    Cheers!

  • I've got the same question. Where is the setting for target temperature when away? It's just a toggle on/off. There's no target temp option. The only hot water setting is the home on/off schedule.
  • Hello @qmunity @ojchurch
The toggle Away is relevant for the UK only. In UK you usually have a schedule to heat your Hot water tank. when you are away, you can stop heating your Hot water tank.

I know qmunity is not located in the UK, what about you ojchurch?

@Emcee Correct, I am based in the Netherlands.

Still, we have hot water tanks here though most people will probably use gas to heat water on-demand. WIth tado v3+ and using gas I had such a setting though and it worked. Was removed with tado X.

  • I'm in the UK with a hot water tank and there is no temperature setting in the away mode.
