Morco IV GB24

I have a Morco GB 24 boiler in my static caravan, could you please advise (or provide a picture) as to where the wires from a Tado V3+ thermostat should go on the boiler….Thanks

  • Your boiler install guide is here
    https://morcoproducts.co.uk/content/Manuals/GB24%20%26%20GB30%20Series%20II%20User%20%26%20Installation%20Instructions.pdf
Go to page 16. You will see the photo and wiring diagram you need.
    1. Remove the loop.
    2. The wire which the drawing describes as 230VAC feed goes to COM on the Tado thermostat.
    3. The wire which the drawing describes as 230VAC return goes to NO on the Tado.
    4. Config the thermostat as relay mode (R01).
  • Thank you very much for your quick and detailed response.

When you mention 'Config the thermostat as relay mode (R01)' does this mean having a yellow light on the thermostat?

  • I dont remember a yellow light being involved. I followed the installation instructions in the app, having given the app the information about the boiler and the wired thermostat.

This is a Tado V3+ Smart Wired Thermostat right?

  • Sorry I should have said in my original post…..I have the Tado Starter kit V3+ Wireless Smart Thermostat.

In the manual for professional installers it mentions pairing the wireless receiver, then configuring it by holding test buttons until a yellow light appears, which it says is the single relay configuration for combi boiler.

Maybe I best wait until I have, actually wired everything up and am using the instructions in the app.

    Apologies for any confusion caused

  • @CDN57. Bear with me. What does that kit contain?

IIRC your boiler is a combi. All you should need is the following items in your kit:

    1. 1 x internet bridge.
    2. 1 x wireless receiver - which connects to the boiler
    3. 1 wireless temperature sensor - which is portable!

If you have these bits, it is easy.

One starts everything from the app and it gives you the steps. From memory this part is the easiest.

  • Easy for you to say…LOL

Yep, I have the items you mention. I have put the app on my phone, I have scanned the QR codes on each of the three components and added the three devices to the app, so I think all I need to do now is connect the wireless receiver to my boiler when I am next at my caravan, and (hopefully) the app will guide me from then on.

  • Hi policywonk

I have made a special trip to the caravan and now have the Tado V3+ set up and all appears to be working as it should. Only real headache I had was trying to get the system to fire up the boiler…I took a guess that the original boiler control knob should be in the ON position and hey presto it all sprang into life.

None of this would have been possible without your assistance, and for that I would like to say that you are a credit to the community and thank you very much.

  • Good luck mate. Thank you.
