Temperature query

My wireless room thermostat is set for 19° but continues to heat to 21°. I have seen something about temperature offset but cannot find this on the App. Any ides?

  • If you go to the Settings-> Rooms & Devices. Then choose the room (not the tri listed under it) you will see Temperature Offset
  • Whenever my Tado needs to heat up for a longer period of time (say more than an hour from cold) it will always heat a full degree above setpoint, without fail, every time. But then it won't do that when maintaining temp so temperature offset won't help you here. It's just a Tado thing, maybe there's a part of the algo that decides it's more efficient to keep the boiler on for longer once it's been fired for a certain period. There are currently no settings available to users to help with behaviour like this, support can change far more parameters that may or may not help but be warned it's a long journey to go that route and get things working the way you want them to.

  • I can see the sense in a larger overshoot when bringing a room up to temperature from cold, assuming that the temperature is monitored at an SRT rather than a wireless temperature sensor.

You have a heat source at the radiator, but it will take time for that heat to move around the room and heat walls, ceiling, floor, furnishings etc. If the temperature rise was halted as soon as the SRT reached set temp then the rest of the room would not be sufficiently warmed and a cycle of reheating would begin immediately.

Once temperature is up to speed and the task is to maintain equilibrium at the set temp then I would expect much smaller overshoots and undershoots for the duration.
