Two buildings, two thermostats, one boiler
I have one boiler (gas combi - Baxi 800) serving two buildings right next to each other. One is a shepherds hut the other a garden room. The boiler is in the garden room with the heating to radiators laid onto the SH and the GR. I have separated the heating by having two zone valves installed (one for each building). I would like to have Tado thermostats in both the SH and the GR (so, two thermostats). The SH has a cable laid on for a wired thermostat. I want people in the SH to be able to call for heat 24/7 but the GR will be timed to only provide heat between, say, 7am and 11pm. I know how to set a schedule on the GR side of things with Tado. My question is so I need two starter kits or can I buy one kit (for the GR) and just a wired stat for the SH? I guess it's up to my electrician to figure out how to wire up this scenario but if anyone can explain it, even in summary, that would be most appreciated. Sorry for my long winded description, hope it makes sense. Thank you.

@Shepherd Welcome. In principle this is like a home with two thermostats and two zone valves for separate upstairs/downstairs heating. Two options are (a) a wired starter kit and add-on wired stat OR (b) wireless starter kit and wired room stat.
The easiest option to replace the room stats is (a). The wired starter kit (a) room stat, replaces your one room stat and the second (wired) stat replaces the second room stat. You set separate schedules in the app.Unknowns to consider are the overall layout and whether you have broadband/Wi-Fi coverage to plug in the single V3+ internet dongle than can reach the thermostats in both rooms. Tado X supports multiple matter/thread internet dongles.

thanks for the reply. Currently, as it's a brand new install, nothing is attached or wired up although I have laid on a cable from the shep hut back to the boiler in the GR (not connected yet). Due to budget constraints I may have to just have a simple twist and click wired stat in the SH but I really want to be able to control it remotely via the app so may break the budget and have the smart stat in there but hooked up to the wire. Both buildings have internet but as they are both metal clad with foiled backed insulation one building can't communicate with the other over wifi. So I think option B is for me then? Wireless starter kit in the garden room and a wired stat in the shepherds hut. I guess with a wired stat you don't need the receiver that the starter kit with wireless stat needs?

@Shepherd Some connectivity and practical issues to think about, and using a wireless starter kit.
- The Tado internet dongle connects to internet/broadband, either wired or a Wi-Fi extender with an Ethernet port.
- V3+ devices (TRV and wireless receiver) connect to the Tado internet dongle with Wi-Fi 802.15.4 and 6LowPan, not the home Wi-Fi.
- X devices use a thread/matter internet dongle and support multiple dongles. Good for larger homes.
- We use a dedicated iPad (an older cheap model) in the kitchen to control all the smart apps.
- The wireless starter kits needs a L+N power source.
Hope this helps your planning.
