Tado app does not work while on WiFi

My system has been working perfectly for the past 3 years.

Out of the blue, I am no longer able to connect to the Tado app when I am on my home WiFi network.

I can use the app if I turn off my phones WiFi and connect via mobile data.

I can also connect if I turn on wifi on my mobile and activate my VPN.

Would anyone know what on earl is the problem?

    I have commented on it in a separate thread (instigator) which was visible in their Community Discussion trend. I live in SW France.

  • I am having the exact same issue I can only use the app now when using 4G and have to disconnect from the wifi
  • That would suggest that the issue is at Tado’s end.

  • I am facing the exact same issue, 3 years no issues then as of the latest app update can’t use WiFi to connect to the app/server until I go onto 4g and all works like it should.. been inconstant with Tado only to be told it is not a Tado issue but my ISP, ISP confirmed no issues with router or connection, it has been escalated to tado’s engineering team so I guess a waiting game for a solution.

    Are you using Community Fibre / a Linksys router by chance?

    This is an issue on Community Fibre's side.

  • I have reported to community fibre but if you change your DNS settings to use Google 8.8.8.8 (dns1) & 8.8.4.4 (dns2) (local network) it will fix it.
  • Same issue here on iPhone 14. I can access it when WiFi is turned off but very frustrating. No other apps or websites seem to have this issue.

    Can someone from tado not escalate with community fibre given how many it’s happening to?
  • I have the same problem! Everything has been fine and then suddenly a week or so ago the Tado app wont even open. It took a couple days before figuring out that it did if I disabled the Wifi on my phone. So now I can at least access it, but it’s annoying to switch it off every time. I do have community Fibre with a Linksys router so I’ll look into that…
  • I’m having exactly the same problem.

    Is it only a community fibre issue or anyone else using other internet providers where this is happening?
  • Yes same problem here after some update of the app in December. I am also on community fibre from England, Kent and it only connects on 4g or 5g. Seems like community fibre is blocking some ip addresses that Tado uses to connect to their servers .
  • Same issue here. Community Fibre, can’t access Tado from WiFi as of mid-December.

    Really hope this gets sorted as I barely have mobile signal in my house. In meantime am using Google Home to control heating. I don’t want to mess around with my DNS settings to compensate for something Tado and Community Fibre should deal with directly.
