How to open valves without turning on a boiler?

Hello, how can I fully open valves of my tado Smart Radiator Thermostat X (with Wired Smart Thermostat X) without turning on heating of my boiler? I have secondary boiler for wood, which is also connected to my radiators pipes and when I add some wood to the fire, I need my valves to be fully open but I do not want to have max heating on my primary gas boiler. Thanks.

Hello @Smou1a One option would be to set the Rooms with TRVs as 'Independent'. The Room can be set at a temperature for the TRV to be 'open', and will not 'call for heat' from your gas boiler.

Hello @wateroakley Thank you very much for your comment. Its an option, but not suitable for everyday use :(. Reverting all 12 rooms to this option and then back after the heating is done.

This solution may or may not be suitable, but you could loosen each SRT (or just the necessary ones) so that they can monitor temperature and can request heat (when needed) but can never mechanically close the valve.

I actually have some of my SRTs set up in exactly this way - kitchen, lounge, hall and landing. I don't have multiple heat sources, just one boiler, but these rooms are all connected without doors between them, so when one is cold and needs heat the others all join in to help. It's like having one big radiator divided across the four rooms.

For summertime, when heating is not needed at all, I loosen them all off. No problems, then, with valves stuck shut when the next heating season starts.
