Combi boiler single zone CH but adding UFH zone

Hi

I decided to add UFH in my kitchen, as such am getting 2 zone valves so kitchen UFH is separate from the rest of the house.

Am I right in saying I can wire the 2 valves in a wiring centre next to the boiler, and add a wired tado smart stat there, which links to a wireless temp sensor in the kitchen. My central heating can then use the wireless receiver as it has been up till now? And I control both on the app?

Thanks

Rich

  • Yes should be possible, but the details depend on your answers to these questions.

    Some questions.

    1. You already have a tado system. What version of wireless receiver is it?
    2. What specific boiler is it?
    3. Do you intend to install smart TRVs on your radiators over time? This affects whether you need two zone valves or just one. With Smart TRVs you should use one automatic bypass valve and one zone valve - the latter handling the UFH.
    4. Is the UFH only intended to run with one thermostat, or more?
    5. Does your UFH come with its own dedicated wiring centre and UFH heating pump?

Come back, will take a couple of rounds. Wont take long.
