Hello, I am about to purchase the X Thermostat and X Thermostatic Valves, but I came across a review stating they are not compatible with the Google TV Streamer, despite it being a Thread Border Router.

I asked about this in the chat on Tado's website, and they referred me to this article: Do I need a Tado Bridge?. However, the article does not mention the Google TV Streamer.

Can anyone clarify if the Google TV Streamer can be used as a Thread Border Router with Tado devices?

    Hello @Fedeobri

    The Google TV streamer cannot be used as a TBR.

    The only TBRs that can work with X for the moment are listed in the article you've mentioned:

    Apple Home Hub: Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or 3rd generation 128 GB), HomePod (2nd generation) or HomePod mini

    Thank you for the clarification. It’s really a pity that the Google TV Streamer is not compatible, especially considering that the Thread and Matter standards were specifically designed to ensure interoperability between devices.

    Is there any chance that a future software update might address this issue and enable compatibility?

    @Fedeobri I'm not completely certain why some TBRs are compatible and others aren't. In some instances, as with Amazon, it's because the TBRs don't support NAT64. Might be the same for Google, but can't say for sure…
