Will you leave Tado if they bring in a sub

No but I will never buy from tado again
Somewhat lucky that I'm on Tado X and apart from the hot water control, everything else is local so I can just avoid the app entirely and automate it all myself (and likely do a better job seeing as preheat STILL isn't available).

YesI will phase out Tado if Tado introduces a mandatory subscription. When that happens I will also lose the trust on this brand.
How do I phase out? I did not donate my old thermostat and knobs to the thrift store. I kept them with me for a rainy day. If Tado disappeared today, I would still have a contingency plan. That should work until I find an alternative.
Perhaps I will keep paying for a few months until I find an alternative, but only time will tell when that would happen.0 -

I was just about to take the plunge on 3 more TRVs but these 'tests' have put me off. I will not be buying any more Tado products, even if the subscription isn't put in place. This behaviour has already been enough to ruin my trust in the company.
If the forced subscription is put in place I will be returning all my kit for a full refund, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK), which protects consumers against unfair terms and misleading practices.
Section 16: Goods (whether or not they conform otherwise to a contract to supply goods) do not conform to it if— the goods are an item that includes digital content, and the digital content does not conform to the contract to supply that content (for which see section 42(1)). (2) See section 19 for the effect of goods not conforming to the contract.
Section 12 also talks about ‘additional charges’ being added after the contract has been entered into.

At the risk of having my whole account deleted and especially this comment, I'd like to put a good word in to Amazon (from whence I bought my tado system).
Even though I began buying this system in April last year, after discussing the problems Ive been having with the system, they have agreed to refund me once I have returned everything. I have to cover the cost of postage, but frankly given the length of time I've had the goods I am more than happy to do that.
For those of you considering your options, if you've bought from Amazon, give them a try, they may help you out like they did me.
Thankfully I am out of the tado ecosystem now. I am reinstalling the manual system I thankfully kept in case of emergencies until my Hive order arrives.
I feel relieved.
Good luck everyone, this is my last post.

No but I will never buy from tado againIt is bad enough that they lock the open window detection behind a paywall when their competitors don’t, but this is just dumb.
I just bought 4x Tado x thermostats and 4x sensors as a trial. Have another 8 rooms to go. They have just lost all future revenue from me - will find someone else that is not trying to screw over their customers.0
