Getting rid of Tado in light of new subscriptions
Has anyone had any luck returning their equipment. Also is there scope for mounting a legal challenge against Tado here. Certainly in the Uk you can’t naturally change the product expectations in this way.

Definitely take legal advice.
As tado refuse to provide any information regarding this fiasco, what else can be done?
I’m not even in the UK and I’m jumping ship. I can’t get my money back but I’m past caring, nothing works properly anyway so I’m off to Hive.0 -
“ nothing works properly anyway so I’m off to Hive.”
I would caution about the Hive TRVs, they are hopeless. After a long “trial” I returned them. Have a look at the Hive forum . . .0 -
They recommended a letter before action and then pursuing initially through small claims court. The main points are:
Misrepresentation:
The seller misrepresented the product as free when they intended to charge later, you may claim misrepresentation.
Unfair Terms:
The Consumer Rights Act 2015 states that contract terms must be fair. Unexpected subscription requirements are likely seen as unfair.
Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008:
If the change was misleading or omitted key information, it could be a breach.0
