Tado x does not work.

Hi.

I installed in my house a Tado x wireless receiver and smart wired thermostats.
One thermostat controls heating in all bathrooms and the kitchen.
Another controls heating in all bedrooms.

For the first few days, it worked, but now neither works properly.
When it is on schedule or I manually turn the heating on at the thermostats, the boiler does not react; it does not turn on.
Hot water is off or on in the app or not.

In the app everything is connected and no issues with the tado devices.
I connected everything buy the instructions and double checked everything looks good

Any have same problem?

Add.
When I press the "boost heating" button on the smart wireless receiver, the thermostat works as expected. I hear valves opening and closing, and the boiler turning on and off while it adjusts the temperature on the thermostats and in the app. But when I pressed the button again, the LED for boost heating went off. None of the thermostats are working, and the boiler does not turn on.

    Hello,

It seems after the issue was escalated to my colleague Cyril, things started working. The issue was fixed by updating the zone controllers.

Try this sequence - if you have the time. You will need 2 hours and a good day.

    1. Pick one thermostat. Dismount it . Remove the batteries for 3-4 mins.
    2. Remove it from the app.
    3. Wait 20 mins.
    4. Reinstall the thermostat back into with the app and the bridge.
    5. Go to the app- and set that room to 25 degrees. Have someone watch the wireless receiver.
      1. Does it force the wireless receiver to light up?
      2. Does it force a valve to open?
      3. If it does it means that the app can still control the wireless receiver and force heat on.
    6. Now do it physically. Go to one other thermostat and force it to demand 25 degrees.
    7. If (5) and (6) work, it may be fixed.
    8. If (5) and (6) dont fix it, decommission the wireless receiver from the app, kill its power for 1 hour. Power it up, reinstall it in the app. Repeat tasks 5-6.
      1. Do they now communicate in a timely fashion (a delay of upto 3 mins can happen). If so, and it holds, you've fixed it.
      2. If not, contact Tado and alert support that you have a no-heat problem. They will prioritise you.

Let us know how it goes.

  • Thanks, Policywonk.

But nothing worked whatsoever. Not even 5, 6, or 8.

So I tried contacting Tado support.

Today I reinstalled my old heating and hot water controller "Honeywell ST9400C " leaving the tado° X smart thermostats, and tested the heating. It works as it should. I can control the heating from the thermostat or the app, and the boiler turns on and the valves open and close. So I assume tado sent me a faulty wireless receiver X, which does not communicate with the tado° smart thermostats.

Well that rules out the zone valves being faulty. Make sure you tell them that.

  • So, Tado support is not helpful at all. They say I am not following instructions, but I am following all instructions given in the Tado app. I am not trying to connect wires randomly and have provided photos of how the Tado devices are connected. They just forwarded me from one representative to another.

I even reset all devices to factory settings, disconnected them from the power, and, following app instructions, reconnected the devices to the system, but the still same issue occurred when I connected the Tado wireless receiver and Tado smart thermostat; heating did not work, but hot water did. When I swapped the Tado wireless receiver for my old heating controller, heating worked.

So now waiting what new representative gonna say 🙄
