Hoe to connect this „great“ product to home network?!

Hi everyone,

I was planning to replace my disconnected smart thermostats with something more advanced and selected this tado product - starter kit with two termo and bridge x. In addition i bought smart sensor… finally got some time to install it all, and guess what - it has been 5 freaking hours pf attempts… to get bridge connected without any success. It connects to my special IoT network from ubiquity with only 2.4 , ipv6 active special IoT optimized. It even appears green in the list of devices but it does not verify connection and do not allow me to move forward. Reseted 20 times used different networks, used android device, finally with android it verify connection but then crashes with error to allow access to home network (what ever this mean?!) the whole support recommendations - try to reset snd repeat. What a shame … i have tons of IoT devices in my house but first time i see sich buggy thing. Absolutely unusable stuff, ready to send it back. If someone have ideas how to solve „verify connection „ issue on iPhone or „access home network“ on android, will be happy to give it a try.

  • I tried to find information about Tado Bridge and IPv6 support…couldn't find it…might it be the case that the Bridge doesn't support IPv6?

  • Initially i tried everything with IPv4 same problems
  • Some screens. Phone connected to the same network. and in devices list bridge appears green. Android at lest can verify connection but then shows error "allow access to you home network" however the promo never appears on the screen - is there setting where it can be changed ? In iPhone it even not able to verify connection.

If your router supports both 2.4 and 5GHz networks, it may have the same SSID for both be default. Try separating them by giving 2.4 and 5GHz networks individual names. Then connect to the 2.4GHz network from your phone and restart the connection process with the bridge.

I believe Tado only connects to the 2.4GHz network, and my assumption is that your phone is connecting to the 5GHz network by default.
You can also verify which network the phone is connected to by visiting the router's admin page and checking the connection details for the phone in the "Connected Devices" list.

    Hope that helps.

  • Thanks @yogiban . I have a separate network gor all my KoT devices (kitchen appliances, washing machine, filters) it has simplified password (as not all small things can work with bigbpasswords ) and only 2.4 broadcasting. It also isolated from my other networks in the settings not only separate wifi but separste network. Also, ad i have 3 access points broadcasting i use IoT only on one of those. When everything connected to same network i see that both bridge and phone are on 2.4 and same network. Still this error for iPhone. On 2 android devices it passes the connectivity check (see the screen above) but do not prompt „give access to your home network“. I did hard reset and reinstall several times already with various combonations… no help :((
