password reset error

recently tried logging into my account via the web and it showed the message with invalid credentials. i clicked the forgot password, entered my email address and it sent me a link, but, when i click the link, it shows the following error message

ERR_ADDRESS_INVALID

i have contacted tado support who when they do eventually reply, give me suggestions to try the obvious which i explained i have tried

i have tried, different web browser, different computers, logging in via the app (android), forgot password via the app and the outcome is always the same

help/assistance is appreciated because i have no idea now and cannot use anything in my account rendering it useless
