Tado X - Always heating at 20 degrees

Can someone help me understand what am I missing?

I am on vacation, recently installed and setup Tado X with Bridge.

For some reason, despite trying all possible options between

  1. Setting Away default temperature to 15.5* - Marking Away in Geofencing option manually
  2. Turing heating off (to Frost protection)
  3. Changing my regular schedules to all being now set to frost protection

And yet my home for the past week has been constantly being heating to 20*

What am I missing? Its frustrating as I set the whole thing up to save heating costs when I am not at home - while now it heats always at 20* when no one is around

    I'd try Tado Helpdesk.

  • Thanks I did and they asked me to wait till 8th till their staff who can help is back to work from Holidays - in the interim I get to pay for my gas bills while no one is around for a tech that Tado built which failed!

This isn't good, especially the cost of heating is high. Why isn't there any technical staff able to assist or are they contractors and not directly employed by Tado.

@Emcee could you look into this.

  • @royi tado° support agents are employed by tado°.

Currently, our agent sent Djpershad's case to more specialized engineers so that a full technical investigation of the problem could be performed. It is taking time as the holiday period in Germany is 24 December - 6 January. Things should get back on track starting today.

    Apologies for the wait, Djpershad.

  • @Emcee unfortunately my home kept on heating to 20* through out my vacation time - resulting in insanely high heating bill for the month of December while no one was around to enjoy the extra heat generated. The purpose for me buy a Tado thermostat and bridge was for this very reason to ensure my heating can be managed remotely so that I can turn off heating when away and schedule turn on just before I am back to ensure the house is at the optimal temperature when I am back

The tech failed on me - now that I am back I could manually reset and things seem to work now, but my question is why did it fail and how to ensure if won't happen again. DO I need to replace both thermostat and the bridge for ensuring it works the next time around in case it is faulty and what happens to the extra costs of heating I have incurred?

  • @Djpershad unfortunately I cannot make a diagnosis, so I cannot confirm whether a replacement would fix the issue. Besst is to wait for a full answer from support.
