Latest app update now shows, for my Thermostat, "Matter Device Linking" - flipping HOORAY!!!! Ah….. underneath it also says "Matter device linking is currently unavailable. Learn more."

  • Purchased today and already encountering issues. When attempting to link within google home app, the process starts but fails with the error: 'No compatible devices were found in your Tado account.' However, all devices, including thermostats and the bridge, are visible and functioning correctly within the Tado app.

  • From my experience with setting Tado with Google Home, I can tell you the following things:

Tado X Thermostatst are added in Google Home in a different way than those in Gen V3.

Tado V3 can be added easily from Google Home through "Works with Google Home" option, while for Tado X I could not added them through Matter-enabled devices option at all.

In order to add Tado X thermostats the process needs to be initiated from Tado App - Settings - Rooms & Devices. Here it is needed to add each thermostat seperatelly (thus repeting the process for each thermostat aside) . When chosing the Thermostat, someone needs to select the lower arrow where the serial code of the device is shown, not from the name of the room. Then an option appears in the lower side of the screen (or even needs to scroll down to see all options).

However, it is important to initiate the process from the phone where the initial setup was made from (for example for the receiver), not from a second phone or from an invited email address. I tried with a different phone and the Option Linking with Matter devices was enabled, while in the first phone I could enable it.

I had some trouble myself with enabling the thermostats in Google Home, but after that I find Tado's software to be excellent. Still I am missing the following options:

    • be able to have 2 homes on the same device.
    • to easily unassociate an email from a tado thermostat.

I hope the advices above are of help.

  • Had same issue, what works for me:
Factory reset temperature x sensor(6s 3 buttons then 6s middle button) ,set phone to 2.4gwifi, google home add matter enabled device ,scan qr code from sensor and thats all
  • I've got the Tado X Thermostats this week and encountering similar issues. A quick internet search shows that this doesn't seem to be a user problem but rather a serious issue in compatibility between Tado X and Google Home.

I've got 6 thermostats set up in our flat, all connected to my Tado X bridge. In the Tado app, I can hook these up to Google Home via Matter Device Linking. However, whatever I do, the thermostats keep showing up as "offline".

So far I couldn't find a fix for this problem. Is there an update, @Emcee?

  • Hello, I've added all TADO X devices (5 radiator thermostats, a bridge, and a central thermostat) in the Tado app, and they work fantastic.

I've also been able to add them to the Google Home app via device linking; it worked for some time. However, now they all show as offline. Removing and adding again does not help.

Do you have an idea what might be going on?

  • I have a tado x thermostat and a wireless receiver. I managed to connect it to GH. However after some time the device shows offline in GH. I have factory resetted it twice already and it worked for a bit, however after some time the thermostat shows offline.

Whenever I restart my router it works again for a bit and then nothing.

Support team has not really been helpful. I think this is a bigger integration issue that needs serious attention.
  • I got the radiator thermostat connected through the bridge and it was pretty easy. I was able to add them pretty easily to Google home, but they are Always offline. I did reset multiple time and I reset also the router at 2.4GHz multiple time
