Provide method to specify type of heating system, i.e. radiators, underfloor, etc.

There is no facility to specify what type of heating system is installed. It appears Tado treats all systems as if the heating system is based on radiators. In case of a underfloor only system it is likely the floor is cold when the first call for heat after a break is generated. Currently the system would start to run for a period with just 1 bar which very likely would do nothing. After period of time or if the inside temperature drops to a larger difference between setpoint and actual it will try 2 bars for another period, etc. Both periods very likely just waste of energy as neither 1 or 2 bar is sufficient to heat the floor in short enough period.

There should be a way to specify the system is underfloor heating based. There should be an algorithm for those systems to figure that if there was no call for heat for a specific period it can assume the floor to be cold and, possibly depending on the time without heating, to speed up the progression between 1,2 or continuous running

  • Definitely needed. I'm surprised it's not an option already. Especially I had to check the box that thermostat controls ufh during install.

Early start doesn't work - floor reaches desired temp 3 hours after scheduled time. What's even worse it's the overshoot. It stops heating much too late leading to big drop in temperature few hours later.

I wrote to support about it, hopefully they'll be able to fix it.
  • I think I’m suffering this problem too? I’ve just installed three Tado X thermostats for three different zones inside the house. The way we used to use it with the three analogue thermostats was to just turn them on full-bore for half an hour or so, feel the floor warm up, then turn them off completely. Now I’m having difficulty working out if the thermostats are working at all because everything happens so slowly. Even if I set the target temperature to 30ºC when ambient is showing 19ºC.
