Looking for a smart Thermostat with a programmable app
I am looking for a smart thermostat for a hall that is not occupied daily but has meetings set down in a calendar. the heating system has three zones which are separatly controlled with motorised valves. Can this be programmed in to the tado App.
thanks

Yes in principle. In a Tado environment every single thermostat (a wired one, a wireless one, a Smart radiator TRV head) is assigned to a room (virtual or actual) and is given a direct 24 hour schedule. Now the app only works on the basis that you can schedule 24 hours ahead. So if you want to change the schedule 2 or more days ahead, thats not an option, unless you using another layer of modern day home controls interfacing with Tado - and thats a significant option with the X series.
We run a very busy education centre with 11 bedrooms, four large meeting rooms, two dining areas, three small meeting rooms, 3 kitchens, etc. Each meeting room has its own radiators, each with Smart Tado TRV heads. Each bedroom too. However the actual schedule changes every 3-4 days because, even though it operates 24/7 the active locations change every 3-4 days. To address this, as workshops or events are arranged, the rooms not in use are mothballed down to 11 degrees cent; we change the hourly scheduled temperature for each room the night before it needs to be in effect, usually about 9pm.
Now if you want to do this as just three zones, will partitioning the property into three logical rooms be adequate, or do you need each actual room scheduled carefully?
- If the former, then all you need is Wired Thermostats controlling each zone.
- If the latter you'll need to add Smart TRV heads into the mix.
