Issues replacing Extension Kit with Wireless Receiver

Hi all,

I'm looking for some help. My extension kit burnt up last night after several years of service. I bought a Wireless V3 Starter kit seeing as it was on offer and cheaper than a Wireless Receiver on its own.

When setting up the new Wireless Receiver I was a bit unsure about the wiring. You can see in the bottom picture that the existing cables are labelled as W (water I guess) and the other one is H (heating I guess).

I took a punt and put the W in HW/NC and the H in CH/NC.

The old extension kit is in the top pic. I was using switched live configuration, but only using terminals 3 and 4 as you can see in the bottom picture with backplate in wall and the new wireless receiver in my hand.

After installing the Wireless Receiver it all seemed to go OK and I paired it to my bridge. I then tested but got no activity from the boiler. I can see the new receiver on my app. And I have set each of my rooms' zone controller to the new receiver. The boiler isn't firing even though it's being called to. The heating LED is lit.

I've also lost the hot water tile in the app.

My next step is to re-wire and use the COM terminals instead. Thoughts?

Any advice appreciated.

    Have you looped the live to the CH and HW com terminals ? See section 3:

  • Yes that's worked. Thank you. I also used NO rather than NC which makes more sense looking at the diagrams in my pictures.

    Now I just need to find out what happened to the water tile in my app

    Use the tado pro app and you can scan the QR code on the IB to pull the config and review or change it.

    I'd guess that HW control is not enabled

  • Tado pro app doesn't recognise my bridge s/n unfortunately.

    I got in touch with the tado help chat and they were able to do it 👍
