Is Tado X suitable for my apartment?
I am really new into these things and was attracted by the idea of having a smart heating setup. Yet I am not sure how compatible the configuration in my flat will be. The thing is, I live in an apartment with central heating. There is a central boiler that is always on and we turn on the valves in the radiators to let in hot water flow whenever needed. The idea I have is to replace those valves with Tado X thermostatic valves and then adjust them via the app or set up certain schedules so that I don't have to run around the flat to turn all them on/off manually every day. Will I only need the thermostatic valves and Bridge X for this? Will I need additional temperature sensors or whatever? And without an access to a boiler of my own, will this setup work?
Thanks in advance,

Yes it will. I have the same setup with a "Central" boiler. A Bridge X and X TRV's are the only thing you need.
One issue with all TRV's is that the temperature at the TRV will not match the room temperature so you will need to offset that difference.
Unfortunately that difference will be higher in winter then the radiators are on full compared to spring when they are on low. So you might have to change the offset during the year.
A temperature sensor X that you place in the room will of cause solve this problem, but they are expensive. (There is a thread on this forum with information on 3'rd party sensors, but I have no idea how well they work)

Thank you for the response! This was all I needed to know but the additional info on offsetting is quite important too. Will definitely check.
EDIT: Now I have another question. There are bundles including a Wireless Thermostat X with Hot Water Control. With this device, I think you don't need a separate Bridge X. Can I use it just as a bridge then without connecting it to a boiler?0 -
Nope, you need one of these
and then addAnd they happens to be on sale. Congratulations ;-)
(Of some strange reason the single one i cheaper on the German page then on my country page so try to order from Germany if you can)

OK, thanks again. There is a bundle on Costco and I will see which way of combining the items will be cheaper. May buy the bundle and sell the hot water control device then.0
