TADO X without Tado App/Bridge/Cloud...
Hello community…
Assuming that I have a thread border router already, and have a home automation controller that speaks matter. (In this case, a Home Assistant Yello).
Can I just add a Tado X device to that, and use it without needing the Tado app/Cloud?
Asking because if this works this would offer a migration path from V3 to X. If it doesn't work, then I guess I will look for other Thread compatible TRVs.

Normally, yes, you need to enable the NAT64 option in the configuration of the OpenThread Border Router add-on under HA so that TADO devices can communicate with TADO servers.

@Krist Hello. As mentioned above by Hansolo for Tado X, the Thread border router needs to support NAT64. Tado and Apple devices are supported, details on the Tado X help pages. Google devices don’t support NAT64. Can’t say about other third party devices or whether Tado devices will work without the App.

The HA Thread border router does support NAT64. The important question that has been unanswered is however: Can I use the TADO device without the Tado cloud?
Can I integrate the devices in HA directly?

For HA and NAT64 support for OpenThread Border Router, yes
In the configuration of OpenThread Border Router you must activate NAT64 option0 -
Yes you can - I have most controlled locally - initially via Matter by pairing them FIRST with Apple Home and only after in Tado. That's the cool thing about matter, you can have multiple home automation systems simultaneously talk to them. If you don't add them to the Tado app it should disable anything cloudy.
