Display Tado x on when change

Options

The new tado x does not turn on the display when changing the temperature from the app, which the previous version V3+ did. It is not great that an updated version of the device has fewer features than the new one

Unfortunately that is not the only feature that has been removed. :(

  • I completely agree. I’ve just come from ancient nest V2 (which is being phased out soon) The tado x sensor display is all but useless as it never comes on unless you physically press its buttons. I may as well move it somewhere out of sight (it’s on a stand).

I assume it’s done this way to extend the sensor (thermostat in my mind) battery life? Also to reduce its internal self heating? I guess I’ll get used to it and a long battery life is quite important to me. Peter

  • Little bit disappointed can’t see the display on, I understand it’s probably due to battery saving
