tado° + Midea Air Source Heat Pump
Hi folks, Not a question, just a success story. We switched from a gas fired boiler to an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) a couple of months ago. We'd used tado° in our last house and requested to re-use the same stuff with the heat pump after we moved. Now, I realise tado° is designed for gas fired boilers and not heat pumps…

What happens if Tado seizes operations?
If I equip my entire house with tado, Im looking at well over 1000 euro; not an inconsequential amount of money. What guarantees do we have that we can continue to use the system at least as a basic programmable thermostat for the next 10+ years, given that every temperature change or scheduled event, even if its triggered…

Which adapter do I need?
After easily installing the smart thermostats on all radiators in the house, I got to our bedroom one which had a different (older looking) one on it. I've tried all the included adapters but can't see any of those working on it. I've also spent time trying to figure out what it's called, but it doesn't seem to match any…

Wireless receiver not responding to TRVs?
I have four TRVs on a home network. When I turn up the heat, I hear the valve open on the TRV but the wireless receiver isn't picking up the call for heat to turn the boiler on. All devices show as connected and responsive on the app. Any ideas why it isn't working?

TRV’s not calling for heat
Hi, I’ve tried to find a solution to this on other posts but can’t see a solution - sorry if this has already been covered. I’ve installed wireless thermostat, extension kit and 5 smart trv’s. Everything seems to be connected and communicating ok but the boiler only fires when the temperature is increased on the wireless…

Hot water always on when Central Heating is on
Hi Just had an engineer replace our Drayton LP112 with a Smart Wireless Tado. A day after I realised that the hot water always comes on whenever the CH is turned on, even though the app shows it as being of. The engineer has come back and spent a few hours troubleshooting but has been unable to resolve. He has suggested…

Why is Energy IQ so bad?
Why does Tado not care about Energy IQ being in any way accurate? I've given accurate meter readings and the output is TOTAL junk. Here's my energy usage by month: I basically don't have any heating on Jun-Sept, and so my gas usage for cooking and hot water is approx 25m^3. It's probably a bit more - but probably not…

Hi, I've installed Tado onto every radiator in my house bar one. In my entrance hall I've got a radiator with a Lockshield connection on both sides. Question about necessity of adding thermostat to system
I've recently installed tado smart TRVs on 3 radiators upstairs. These appear to be pairing properly with the internet bridge and tado app. All good. I installed the smart TRVs because the upstairs rooms were getting far too hot when our heating is on downstairs. This is because our central heating is controlled by a…

Tado outdated requests
This morning I received an email from Tado "We have noticed a number of outdated requests for home data to the tado° cloud from your account. These requests are unlikely to have been generated by current versions of tado° apps or devices. If you have set up an open source or commercial home automation system not listed on…

Heating always on
I just installed the v3+ starter kit, it's a simple old oil boiler with no zones or separate hot water. It appeared to work OK at the start but now boiler is on when ch light and app says off. With power off and wires out I get continuity between ch COM and ch NO. Is this the stuck relay issue that seems to be common? Pic…

Home/Away... How does it work related to the distance from home?
You can set the radius around a location to define "home." Does anyone know which distances are used in the different modes (eco, balance, comfort) and the way the transition to home happens? How much is heated up in which case, at what distance, and at what temperature?

Thermostat stuck on 'ON'
I have a older wired thermostat (c2015) and seems to be stuck on (call for heat). The buttons and lights on the thermostat and on the app all function correctly, showing ch is off, but boiler is still on. Only way to stop CH is by taking the thermostat off the wall mount. (have changed batteries, showing 100% in app) I am…

Is it possible to have a wireless thermostat control a 'wired smart thermostat' ?
I have a setup with a wired thermostat controlling my underfloor hydronic heat system. It works OK. But I have to put this thermostat in a small box with valve, manifold etc. - so that the temperature it measures is not the room temperature. That is why I want to have a wireless thermostat read the room temperature, and…

Honeywell T40 two wire replacement
I’ve got an old Honeywell t40 thermostat that only has two wires connected. Brown wire connected to 1 and blue connect to 2. I’ve bought the Tado wired version but I’m unsure if the connections as the app doesn’t have a guide for them. Can anyone advise where I should connect these two wires, please?
