Potterton powermax HE install
Hi all, i’ve purchased a wireless v3 starter kit and it seems the tado app doesn’t have install instructions for my boiler as i don’t have an existing wireless controller. I have a wired thermostat (honeywell) and that is it. I couldn’t find a thread with a wiring pinout or instructions on how to connect it up. Does anyone…

Taco V3+ internet bridge, USB connection loose
Hi I have had the Tado v3+ for just over 2 years. Unfortunately it seems to the USB power source connection is now loosening and regularly disconnecting. I have to keep the wire and bridge in a certain position to reconnect. Have others noticed this to be an issue after a while as well? Does this usually mean it will stop…

Struggling to understand Tado's heating logic
Hey all! I installed my 2 wired Tado V3+ thermostats last week and it's been a bit of a mixed experience so far. I initially had to go to support because one stat was turning the boiler on and off like crazy and pushing latest configs seemed to fix it. It's been better since then but it's still being a bit weird and I'm…

Air Comfort
The ideal temperature in a room or zone is a matter of personal choice. The degree of humidity is a matter of climate. These vary and should be capable of choice and customisation not a level of humidity and temperature that tado decides should suit everybody regardless of preference and location. Solution. Allow for some…

new boiler, old tado
Hi I have a classic tado system (extension TX02) which has up until recently been controlling an 52-year old potterton boiler with a CH pump and gravity hot water feed to the cylinder. If HW on, the boiler fired but not the pump. For CH, both the boiler and the pump operated. I have just had installed an Ideal Logic S30…

2FA / MFA - EU legal requirement
Hi, I've created a new post to again highlight the importance of this to Tado. Without 2 factor authentication/MFA, Tado will soon be in breach of EU law. In 2022, the EU Commission proposed the Cybersecurity Resilience Act (CRA) which introduces mandatory cyber controls to, amongst other things, IoT devices including Tado…

Long charging cable for 190-85-595
Hi there. When our device was installed, it came with a very short cable for charging and connecting to our router. Our router is experiencing connection issues and to root out the possibility of this device being the issue, we are looking for either a longer charging cable, or a longer connection cable from the small…

Relay and Opentherm together
The Tado extension kit can control the boiler through a relay (simple on-off switch) or through the Opentherm bus. The bus allows for better temperature stability and higher efficiency as it tells the boiler to turn the heating up or down as necessary. If a heating system contains other elements, like a shut-off valve or…

Frost Guard + temperature offset?
Does the temperature offset affect the Frost Guard function. E.g. If I set the temperature offset to allow for the position of the thermostat near the radiator such as +5 would that prevent the Frost Guard from starting the heating until the room was at 0 degrees?

New boiler pump keeps running on through bypass rads
Hi. I have just had a new combi boiler installed - Bosch greenstar 1000. I had my Tado trvs + receiver working on my old Bosch combi boiler great for a few years, but the new boiler pump keeps running on through the bypass radiators , with all the heating off on the Tado app, like it is still asking for demand. I'm sure it…

Smart Radiator Thermostat problem
Dear Community, I have two Tado radiator thermostats that have worked well for two years or so. Now after I replaced the batteries (positioned correctly) no thermostat works anymore. I tried various brands of batteries (Varta, Duracell, Energizer). After replacing the batteries, I attached the thermostat accordingly. The…

Missing comments from some users
@Emcee, can you assist here? Looking at some discussions, I note that comments from certain users are missing e.g. GrayDav4276 and SteveIreland (profile is gone) This makes it hard to follow some discussions. Appreciate that some users may remove themselves from the forum but it would be useful to still be able to see…

Hardware version Tado Thermostat smart
Hello, i do have the possibility to buy 8 Tado thermostat smart (classic, no X and without bridge) for a good price. On the box it's written "horizontal". i'm aware that now this mention is gone and that a Software update made horizontal/vertical as not relevant anymore. My question is, are there different/older hardware…

Samsung AC - no lower than 16°C heating?
My samsung heatpump allowes me to set it to lower than 16°C on heat-mode (although not lower than 16° on cool-mode) but Tado° limits me to 16° and higher. Is this possible to achieve in Tado° as well? When I’m gone for long during winter I want it on just 5-10°C. And actually I like it on lower than 16 during nights…

Hello everyone. We recently purchased the Tado Smart Wireless kit v3 with radiator trvs. It's been a bit of a challenge setting everything up. At the moment, we're not seeing the hot water control button in the App. It previously was there but disappeared, and the manual button on our wireless receiver doesn't activate hot…

Boiler does not switch off sometimes.
I have 12 smart tado TRVs and 1 room stat. If I use the app to switch everything off all the tiles go grey (frost protection) but the boiler stays on and is heating the pipes and 2 towel rails that are not controlled by Tado TRVs. If I use the app to switch everything off it does not always switch the boiler off. Is this…

Tado V3+ and Vaillant Ebus
Hi, I currently have a Tado V3+ wired starter kit coupled with Tado smart TRV's. I'm about to replace my boiler, will Tado modulate a Vaillant Ecotec Plus? Or am I better to stick with a pure Opentherm boiler like a Baxi or Viessman?

Wireless temperature sensor and 12 smart radiator thermostats
Hi, I have looked around and can't seem to find an answer. If I have 12 radiators and only one wireless temperature sensor, I can only add 10 rooms. Is it the case that if I want a setup like this I need to have the wireless sensor always on and then all 12 should work, or is there a smarter way to set them up?

Make Smart AC Control expose more AC settings to HomeKit?
Is there any reason why the only options in HomeKit are cooling, heating and off? In the Tado app I can see that it knows the commands for auto mode, dry mode, fan mode, fan speed, tilt, fixed etc. HomeKit supports these modes and settings, I don't think it would be that difficult to expose these modes and settings to…
